Technique sculpture
It's easy to knead a bit of earth and create something beautiful.
Clay is sold in the supermarket today and they burn it in addition free of
charge! Could not be better then.
But such a sculpture needs a socle, and the expense in time for
that and the patina can be some time as much as for the whole sculpture proper.
You got to see such an object from all sides - in most museums you cannot.
Only once, in the Musée Picasso in Antibes or Nice, I saw a big sculpture
on a rotating pedestal. That sculpture was placed in a corner, but by turning
you could see how amazingly different sides this sculpture had.
Here in the internet I can produce animated gifs and make a small slide show.
Very nice! By the way, the patina is simply shoe-polish. Don't remember where
I found the trick. |
