Theme Two
Two makes a couple, and as a couple they are often of different sex, hence represent poles with tension. But even with couples of the same sex opposition, tension and relation are clearly sensible. One way to read these pictures could be to see comments to situations existing in real life. As can be seen through the descriptions, I am seduced myself in this direction. Probably it is more sensible to see inner figures, participants in my drama of life, as esoteric astrologers or psychoanalytics of the Jung section will see it. As in interpreting a dream, all figures, like the parts of the dream, would be again only myself. Of course, this would be equally true for the viewer who in turn projects his own inner figures onto the painting (see i.e. Memoirs, Edith). But then again I ask myself how much can be said at all about pictures, and how much should be said. |
