Piece Nr. 1

Music note Nr. 230, painting, US$ 4,800

At first: I don't understand anything about music. As a mathematician musical theory should be easy for me; on the contrary nothing is more barred to me than that.

Nevertheless I do hear a lot, being very critical. There is much I cannot stand. Then again, many a piece looses rapidly if I continue listening. Few things gain if heared again and again. So that's nothing new, this is the way quality shows up.

Strange enough that I could do it in the first place, I am amazed that I can hear these things over and over again, finding them even more interesting. I cannot explain this. Few have heard the pieces so far, they appeared at least to be strange.

Unfortunately, I have technical problems. I can play midi-files, but the pieces sound good on my machine when played in Cakewalk but ugly when played from a html-file. The problem seems to be that instuments are changed and distorted. If you know a solution please give me feedback! I could deliver the mid-files, but of course I want to make shure they sound good. So far I can give only samples of notes (this to me, being unable to read notes!).

Piece 1, measure 114, 115, piano solo
Piece 1, measure 114, 115, piano solo

Pieces 1 and 2 are written on staff, 4 and 5 played on a midi-keyboard, 3 and 6 written on piano-roll. Therefore 1 and 2 are in one key, the others without key (if I dare to express it that way; on my level I rather say: in 1 and 2 I used the notes given in the staff without signature, in the others all notes available).

As I cannot play the keyboard either, pieces 4 and 5 are without strict rhythm. Each of them takes about 5 minutes, is written resp. played from the start to the end, seldom corrected. As it is not possible to give the pitch in writing notes, I modulated that later. I.e. in piece 1, tenor sax solo, the effect sounds like the player shifts back and forth in front of the microphone.

The texts to the pieces are not translated yet. Please give me a note at if you would like a translation.
